Greece Home Sweet Home

Just arrived in Greece and are staying in our friends home in the Cyclades. Heaven and feeling right at home. Jean & Olivier two of our best friends from Paris have a wonderful home here( more about that later) . It’s so strange when you return to a place that feels a world away back home, it’s as though you never left on your return. Loving it.

By “dry-docking the boat” the subject is assigned a new place and image, both idealised and conserved. The water is gone and it leaves the actors free from their natural environment and original purpose as remnants and witnesses of a dying culture, transforming them into icons.

Casa Do Conto

Casa do Conto (House of Tales in Portuguese) a concept hotel in Cedofeita, Porto, has had a rocky start. The charming XIX Century Oporto House was lovingly restored by Pedra Liquida Architects, after which a fire virtually destroyed the building just days before its reopening. A new building was built on the site with the memory of the old structure in mind. The architects thought of the new skin as a type of ‘fossil’ of the historic. The project references the ornate nature of its predecessor with abstract textures and texts applied to concrete surfaces.

They have spun off a company dedicated to the design of unique and delightful lighting fixtures. Fashionistas have gone dotty: the new collection between Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama and Marc Jacobs by Louis Vuitton has launched in New York and pop-up stores set to open across the globe later this week.Today the artist is based in Tokyo, where she has voluntarily lived in a psychiatric hospital for more than three decades. Her works, which are noted for their vibrant, repetitive, object-enveloping patterns, are said to be inspired by her hallucinations. The collection features ready to wear , handbags , watches and scarves. Prepare to be Polka Dotted.

Based in Atlanta with a huge amount of truly amazing projects under her belt, Kay needed a retail space to house her many finds . Ten years ago now South Of The Market opened it’s doors and has gone from strength to strength .
